Favorite lip products

Hi Honeys,

Todays SoProject post is all about lip products (my fav!). I love experimenting with new colours and today I’m going to show you my top 5 lipsticks (which was a very hard choice considering I have over 50 lipsticks!), top 2 lip balms and a highly raved about lip scrub.

First up, my favourite lipsticks. I have included some nudes for my day time look and some vibrant colours for an evening look paired with a smokey nude or grey eye. I apply the nude lipsticks straight to my lip without using a brush to make it easier on the go and I apply the coloured lipsticks with a lip brush, this ensures a precise application so I don’t get the colour outside my lip-line (not a good look!)

(L-R) MAC Lipstick in shade Hue, loreal color ruche in Julianne's nude, Barry M 54, maybeline Fushia flash, beauty uk plumalicious, MUA one direction in Louis.)

Maybelines fushia flash is an exact dupe for MAC's candy yum yum but more glossy! I also think plumalicious is a gorgeous A/W shade, perfect for the colder months.

Next up is my favourite lip balms. I love a tinted lip balm whilst I am at work. It’s so easy to apply at my desk without a mirror and also because it’s so hydrating it doesn’t chap on your lips and rub off unevenly but also gives you a wash of colour. My favourite for doing this has to be the Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch. This is so gorgeous for adding a subtle wash of colour as well as smelling like cherry’s and hydrating your lips!

My second favourite lip balm is my EOS clear one, these are hard to come across in the UK, but a friend of mine was visiting the USA so I asked her to pick me one up. She got me this in honeysuckle. This smells soooo gorgeous and doesn’t feel at all waxy on your lips like other lip balms it’s so light weight. I also like the funky packaging!

Last but not least, my Lush lip scrub in Popcorn. This is an all natural lipscrub meaning.. its edible! So before I apply my lipsticks or I feel my lips are getting cracked and dried out, I dip my finger into the jar and scrub this all over my lips and then lick it all off! (this tastes soooo good, like sweet and salted popcorn!) After, my lips are super smooth and rid of all dead cracked skin. I love the fact this product is edible because you don’t need to worry about any of the product getting into your mouth.

My favourite eye palettes

Hi Honeys,

So this week’s So Project is all about eye-shadow, OoOo!

Eye-Shadow is a product that provides colour to your eye to either add colour to your face or to bring out the colour of your eye by using nude colours etc.

In this post I am going to show you my favourite eye-shadow products that I use on a day to day basis or for a more glam look on a night out.

Everyday:

For my Everyday eye I like to stick to nudes and gold’s, For this I use my MUA Undress me 1 & 2 palettes, these are £4 each from superdrug or from MUA’s website. This are such gorgeous colours and super pigmented and also a fab dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 1 & 2 palettes, If I am wearing a really bold lip for a night out, I will also use these palettes to pair a nude eye with a really bold lip.

Some days I like to just wear a shade on its own, other days I like to mix colours. My favourite at the moment is a matte pale shade all over my lid and up to my eyebrow, a shimmery pale shade all over my eyelid and a dark gold or brown colour in my eye socket crease and on the outer corners. Then I blend this all out for a quick and easy everyday smoky eye!

Evening/glam:

For my evening/glam look I like to do a typical black and grey smoky eye, I think this looks beautiful teamed with a nude lip or with a bright coloured lip such as a deep red or bright pink.

I like to use my L&B smokey eyes palette for this, I picked this up from boots earlier this year in the new year’s sale, I add the white shade all over my eye up to my eyebrow, and then the light grey shade on the outer half of my eye and the darkest black shade in my eye socket crease and along my lower and upper lash line. I then blend this all out with my real techniques blending brush.

For a ‘pop’ of colour:

I don’t really like adding colour all over my lids, as I find it looks too 70’s/80’s and quite tacky, well on me anyway! I love my colour eye-shadows and adding a pop of colour to my eyes every now and then, especially purple as I think this looks gorgeous with a blue eye. So to add colour to my eye, I do either my every day or evening/glam look and then I add the ‘pop’ of colour by picking the shade I want and adding this to my eye along my top and lower lash lines like an eyeliner just slightly thicker and blended out more with brush. This shows off the colour to match your outfits and eye colour but subtitle without looking like you have just walked out of a 80’s rave! I like to use my MUA Immaculate collection palette for this as it has a wide range of colours.

Vivo blusher palette*

Hi Honeys,

So I’m really excited to show you this blusher palette that I have been completely smitten with since I received it.

The Vivo palette in ‘show me yours and i’ll..’ has 2 blushers within it, 1 cream and 1 powder and also a highlighter. The highlighter is a rose gold colour and is absolutely gorgeous. I have been using this literally every day since I received it over bronzer or over the blushers within the palette. The other two are pretty much the same colour but one is a cream and one is a powder, perfect for teaming them together! The colour of the blushers is a light pinky/beige colour. Its gorgeous, I really like using it on tanned skin to lighten up my cheeks for that dewy look or for when I don’t have a tan, it looks lovely on my pale skin to give me a wash of colour for the rosey cheek look. – perfect for this A/W in our knitted hat and scalf! I actually prefer the cream blusher to the highly raved about bourjois cream blushers. I find the bourjous cream blushers are hard to work with as they are so thick, whereas this one is super light and moisturising that you can pick it up on a stippling brush and apply it to your cheeks, it blends in mega easy – like a moisturiser!

This retails for £5.99 and you can purchase this from Vivo’s website:www.vivocosmetics.co.uk along with a whole lot of other cheap and cheerful goodies! Next on my list is one if their eye-shadow palette – so perdy!

Reem Tan In A Can*

So as you all know I am a slight fake tanaholic and I love TOWIE, so when I saw their was a self tan called reem tan it was like a match made in heaven! I have wanted to try a spray self tan for a while now, as I always stick to gel or lotion tans. I also want to try a mousse tan as I've heard these are mega easy to apply.

First impressions, is how smart and luxurious the packaging looks. It's not a cheap plastic bottle, it's a metal tin can, like a hair spray can put a lot better, it reminds me of a cocktail mixer! Lol!

Before I applied this tan I sprayed it on to a cotton wool bud so I could see if it had that typical biscuit fake tan smell we all hate, fortunately it smelt like perfume, I can't explain to well how it smells but it's not over powering, it's a light fragrance and it doesn't smell biscuity (woo!)

I sprayed this all over my body lightly, I liked how the can is a 360 can, which means it works even when you have the can upside down! A fake tanners dream, their is nothing worst than the tan only working whilst upright, makes self tanning really difficult! After I applied the light coat, I then buffed it in with a tanning mitt to make sure I didn't miss anywhere. The mist comes out in a brown colour which is fab because it gives you a guide colour and it's perfect for a last minute tan if you need immediate colour. As the colour developed it started getting even darker and gave me such an olive colour, the above after picture does the tan no justice. I find photographing fake tan always looks lighter than it is and that picture was also before it developed further. I was amazed with how dark I had actually gone in 3 hours, this product reminds me so much of the Fake Bake Tan In A Can but for a fraction of the price. I decided to wait 6 hours before washing it off, and when I did hardly any of the product washed away, I think this is down to it being a spray tan, you don't apply as must product so there isn't as much to wash away.

I would defiantly recommend this product for those of you that like a deep dark tan, I have this in 12%, there is one higher than this which I think would be MEGA dark, so I'm going to give that one a go, and also a few with a lower percent which would be good for those of you that like more of a golden tan or a gradual tan.

You can purchase this from www.reemtancompany.co.uk you can pick up two bottles of 200ml for only £18.99 (wow!!)

MUA Going for Gold Palette

So I have recently been really getting into my eyeshadows, especially browns and nude colours. I realised I didn't have many gold colours and thought these would look gorgeous for Autumn to warm up a face. And then I saw this palette, it has everything my eyeshadow collection was lacking, MUA eyeshadow palettes always have amazing pigment for their unbelievable price of £4!

For a gorgeous Autumn eye I have been covering my eyelid with the top left beige shade, filling in the outside half of my eyelid in the top middle gold shade and then adding the dark bronze shade into my eyelid crease and smoking it out with my real techniques crease brush.

You can pick this eyeshadow palette up from MUA's Makeup website for only £4.

DUPE for MAC candy Yum Yum

L-R: maybelline fuchsia flash lipstick,   MAC candy yum yum lipstick.

have recently found a love for MACs wide range of gorgeous lipstick colours, especially the new riri loves mac range. So I thought I would go on a YouTube/blog hunt for dupes. I came across the Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in colour Fuchsia Flash which is an exact dupe for MAC Candy Yum Yum apart from this is a glossy finish lipstick and MAC candy yum yum is a matte lipstick as you can see from the above swatches. This shade is a beautiful bright vibrant pink with a blue undertone and looks beautiful on either pale skin or tanned skin because it's such a versitial shade. On nights out I have been teaming this with a black smokey eye and in the day I have been teaming it with a nude smokey eye. So if you have been eyeing up MAC candy yum yum but can't seem to part with the £15 price tag, pick this beauty up, it's a fraction of the price! :-)

MAC & Victoria Secrets Haul

Hi honeys!

So, I'm sunning it up in beautiful Tenerife at the moment with a margarita in one hand and my iPad in the other writing this! Oh how I wish this was the life... anyway, I just wanted to show you all my mini duty free haul on the way out here (more to come I would think on the way back :o i can't resist a bargain!)

First of all I purchased a Victoria secrets body spray in Yellow 5 I have wanted to get my hands on one of these spray for ages! But they are so hard to get hold of in the UK, so when I saw the Victoria secrets shop in duty free I had to purchase this. The smell reminds me of nina rici's red apple purfume. It's a light fruity smell that actually lasts like it's a purfume, unlike other body mists. I love it and will defiantly purchase this again for £11.40 such a beautiful smell and bottle - perfect for keeping in your handbag for a quick pick me up because the bottle is made of plastic so it's really lightweight but looks like a glass bottle? Perfect!

Second up is a lipstick I have been lusting over for ages. MAC's creme cup, this is a beige lipstick with a pink undertone. Really beautiful and compliments my yellow skin tone really well. For £11.20 in duty free, I couldn't say no!

Last but not least, riri loves MACs diamond limited edition cream highlighter. What can I say! The packaging first drew me in, so pretty and girly - it's pink and rose gold! I have been lusting over a cream highlighter for ages apart from my MAC strobe cream and when I saw this for £14.10 I knew I couldn't leave without it. This is going to look so gorgeous on my dressing table, it's making me want to pick up the rest of the riri loves mac collection! This was the last one left on the stand so I'm presuming these are going to quickly sell out girls... So hurry :-)

Keep your eye out for my return duty free haul!

Fav Mascaras & Divaderme Eye-Lash Extender

This weeks SoProject is all about Mascara! (ooo!)

Every girl/women I know wears mascara, it’s got to be the most popular make up item. Mascara is used to lengthen, thicken and in some cases darken your eye lashes. You can pick up all sorts of mascaras but the majority of these either lengthen or thicken your lashes (some gems do both!)

I like to use two types of mascaras on my lashes, my first Mascara (benefit bad girl lash) lengthens my lashes without clumping them, I have to lengthen my lashes because mine are so stubbly and none existent (boo!) and then I use a second mascara (Bourjous clubland mascara in ultra black) to thicken my lashes. The Bourjous clubland mascara has been a staple in my makeup bag since I was in school because my eyelashes are so thin, this mascara really thickens your lashes and gives you that jet black bold look. It HAS to be used after using a lengthening mascara though, as if you put it straight on your eyelashes it would clump and make your eyes look like pig eyes! :o

For nights out or for a more dramatic eye, I like to use Divaderme Lash Extender this is eyelashes in a bottle – literally. It is instantly brush-on lash extension’s that add hundreds of tiny natural lash fibers to your eyelashes (see above picture for the fibres on my hand).

I think this product is brilliant. I love wearing false lashes (infact, I’m addicted to them) but with this product I can have long lashes that look more natural than eyelashes and you haven’t got to worry about your eyelashes peeling off throughout the day/night (not a good look!) The only thing that bothered me is: you have to be really careful when you apply it, especially if your makeup is already done or you'll have hairy eyelids, nose and maybe the rest of the face (and this fibers can really stick to your skin). So I suggest you shake the Lash Extender brush (so the excess of the fibers will fly off) and always have a clean makeup brush handy to remove the remaining fibers from your face. I definitely recommend this products to all those girls who want to have long, thicker and wow-effect lashes without using false lashes.

How to use:

Add one layer of mascara on to your eyelashes. Whilst your lashes are still wet from the mascara, brush the fibers on to your lashes whilst looking down into a mirror to ensure you don’t get the fibres in your eye (I have never got any of these fibres in my eye, and I have been using this every day since I got it). Then once dry, seal it with another coat of mascara. – you can repeat this as many times as you like to get the desired effect.

Here is a before and after picture of me using this product, you can see it has really thickened my lashes out.

Pros:

+ It gives you a wow factor

+ Longer, thicker and healthier lashes instantly

+ Really easy to use

+ Looks natural

+ Handy-sized

+ Stays put all day (doesn't fall off)

+ cheap as its under £5.

Cons:

- If you're not careful you'll end up with a hairy face, I find its best to do this before you apply your foundation.
