RVB & Resultime Skincare

Lately I have really been getting into my skincare, one of my new year’s resolutions was to start taking care of my body better, this including my skin as I never used to look after it, the closest I would get was piling tons of fake tan on (which I know, isn’t the best for your skin!) when Roxanne from Frasermuir asked if I would be interested in sampling some high end products, how can I say no?! - I am only going to review 3 products that really wowed me out of the bundle Roxanne sent me as I only want to review products that I really love!

First up is the RVB 24hr multi moustrising cream* (which I haven't got a picture of as I stupidly used it all before taking pictures!) this smells soooo good, like a spa facial  – but not too overpowering! I really like this face cream and I will be asking for the full size bottle for my birthday as my mum has asked me for a few ideas and this will defiantly be on the list. I find my skin is really moisturised when I was up in the morning and so soft after using this, it also blends really well without feeling too cakey or oily on the skin. The perfect combo for me to start my new skin care venture! This retails for £49.50 and you can only purchase this from appointed stockists which you can find here http://www.rvb.eu/distributors/uk/salonfinder.php or over the phone my calling01767682288.

Next is the Resultime Micellar Cleansing Water*. After really enjoying using the loreal Miceller water, I thought I would compare the two. First of all, I can really notice the difference between this high end product to the loreal drug store product. The Resultime Miceller water is literally like applying water to the skin and removes my makeup really easily without stinging my eyes or making my skin feel sensitive – perfect! Whereas, with the loreal Miceller Water I found it slightly more oily and it stung my eyes a little when I was sweeping it over my eyes to remove my mascara. The Result Micellar Cleansing Water retails for £19.50 (its defiantly worth this price tag in my eyes). You can purchase it from their website and appointed stockists (which can be found via their website on the salon finder tab) http://www.resultime.co.uk/salon-finder

Finally, I really enjoyed using the RVB OM   Regenirating Scrub*. oh my this is AMAZING for getting fake tan off. It smells really luxurious too, so I feel like I’ve had a really good pamper session after using this. The reason why I am rating this so much for getting fake tan off is because its quiet grainy so its perfect for scrubbing your tan off but on top of that, its not oily at all (something the bodyshop scrubs are – even though I love these, they are horrible to use just before fake tanning). So when you get out of the shower, you can apply another fresh layer of fake tan without it going VERY patchy and horrible because oil based products and fake tan = a patchy mess! This scrub retails for £36.00 and you can only purchase this from appointed stockists which you can find here http://www.rvb.eu/distributors/uk/salonfinder.php or over the phone my calling01767682288.

After using these products, I can really notice the difference to drug store and am now a convert, you really do get what you pay for!

Lush Cosmetics - impulse purchases

literally cannot walk past Lush without strolling in and having a browse. I saw they had their valentines range out but somehow I managed to sway myself away from purchasing any of these apart from one product.. The Close to you massage bar I fell in love with Lush's Christmas fairy massage bar as I loved the smell, it was exactly like the body wash "snow fairy" the only downside was that the Christmas fairy massage bar was a bright pink colour so whenever I used it the colour would trasport onto my skin. This is why I love the close to you massage bar, because it smells exactly like the Christmas fairy massage bar, but because it's a lighter pink it doesn't stain your skin and leave you with an awkward Mr. Blobby tint!

I like to use this after I get out the bath by rubbing it all over my body and letting the oil soak in for 5 minutes before getting into my PJ's! When I wake up in he morning, my skin smells so good as well as being really soft and hydrated!

The next product I purchased was the Lush Lipstick in charm. First of all, how cute is this packaging and name tag? This is originally what attracted me to the lipstick, but once I tried it I knew it needed to be mine! It glides on so easily and lasts for a few hours before I need to touch it up. I also love the fact that all Lush's products are 100% natural, it means you haven't got to worry about putting any nasty's on to your body.

You can purchase either if these products from your local Lush store or via their website - www.lush.co.uk

Kate Middleton Blowdry Ft. Neal & Wolf

So recently I was set an exciting challenge from the guys at Neal and Wolf to style my hair using a step-by-step guide and using two of their products, the ELEVATE* and the FIX* products. ELEVATE is a root boosting cream that creates fabulous volume and FIX is a pump hair spray to fix your hair do into place.

I created this look by:

1.Applying the ELEVATE lotion to my damp combed through hair from root to tip, using a 50p size amount.

2. Roughly dried my hair with a hairdryer.
3. Clipped my hair back into 4 sections.

4. Using my round brush, I blow dried each individual sections.
5. Pinned my hair up and spritz with FIX hairspray and left to set for 10 minutes.

6. I then unclipped my hair, styled it by running my fingers through it and sprayed a tiny bit more hair spray to set it.

The final look is fab! It’s how my hair looks after having it done at the hair dressers. I’m really pleased I managed to create this look myself and how easy it was to do. I normally let my hair dry naturally, but I’ve noticed that this makes your hair really flat and limp like. This is the perfect party hair and I can’t wait to go out for my works do with my hair styled like this and my fur coat! Oo lala!

The smell of these products is so gorgeous, the best smelling hair products I have ever tried. The smell reminds me of the perfume Gucci Guilty, and I can smell it throughout the day, it’s like a perfume for your hair!

You can purchase these products from Neal and Wolf – www.nealandwolf.comboth products cost £12.50 each. They also have some lovely gift sets, so please check them out, next on my Neal and Wolf wish list is their Candle!

Favourite Drugstore Foundations

Just a quick post to show you my ‘go to’ drug store foundations for everyday.

First up is the Rimmel wake me up foundation, I absolutely love this foundation for when I’m at work. The coverage and lasting power is great for the price as you only need a little bit, the colour match is also a perfect match for me, I have quite a yellow based skin tone. I would highly recommend this foundation if you are on a budget. Its currently on offer at boots for £6.99.

Second is the Loreal Lumi Magique light infusing foundation I purchased this for £12.99, so it’s quiet pricey for a high street foundation but oh my is it worth it! This is the best high street foundation I have come across, when you pump it onto your skin it feels a bit watery, I wasn’t keen on this as I like a full coverage thick foundation normally. However, when this is blended out, it looks like a full coverage foundation and covers everything up but it has the benefit of being light and airy on the skin. Perfecto! I would put this up there with the high end foundations as I have been really impressed with this one because it lasts all day too. It has light reflecting technology within it, I’m not quite sure what that means, but when I wear this I have notice my face looks more dewy and a lot more radiant. The packaging, I feel, is actually quiet luxurious and looks really lovely. I’m in love with this beauty!

Do you recomend any drug store foundations? I would love to know your favorites, as I am trying to stear away from my high end foundations and save some penny’s but I dont want to compromise on quality!

My Detox - ft. NOW Liquid Chlorophyll

After Christmas I am always left feeling bloated and fat and every year I say I’m not going to let the same happen again and I fail miserably! This year I put on a whooping 6 pounds over Christmas, I just can’t help myself, the Costa Christmas drinks, the Chocolate tins, Cheese Boards, Biscuit Tubs and Mince pies all got a hold of me. Now it’s time to say goodbye to the 6 pounds I quickly gained and another stone that I would like to get rid of!

I have decided to change my lifestyle as I am eating way to much ‘convenient’ foods a day and junk basically, after reading endless amounts of diets, the majority of people have said that eating ‘raw’ foods (anything that isn’t processed) for 6 days a week and then having a ‘cheat day’ on this day you can eat what you like (within reason), with at least 2 hours exercise a week to start with. Sounds easy eh?!

Today I have had porridge oats with skimmed milk for breakfast and blueberry’s on top, for a mid morning snack I had a handful of nuts, for lunch I had a homemade mushroom soup, for my afternoon snack I had an apple with 1 tsp of peanut butter and for dinner I am going to have seasoned chicken, rice and butternut squash with a natural yogurt and strawberries for dessert. Throughout the day I have been drinking water and 1 green tea. I have cut out caffeine, hot drinks, anything processed and alcohol also, a major no no is white bread and pasta.

I can’t wait for my cheat day! I’m already looking forward to having a cuppa and some chocolate!

On top of all of this, I have done a 7 day Detox, using NOW Liquid Chlorophyll which is Made from natural chlorophyll which is often referred to as ‘the life blood of plants’, NOW®Liquid Chlorophyll* can help to cleanse the body, fight infection, and generally promote good internal health.

every morning I had 1 tsp’s in orange juice for 7 days, this stuff is meant to be a miracle worker, giving your body some great nutrients and giving your body a good ‘n’ proper cleanse, perfect after a Christmas of over eating! This stuff is used by celebrities and is highly raved about in nutirition and health blogs as its natural and full of good benefits such as:

·          contains vitamin K, C, folic acid, iron, calcium and protein, which are all essential in building anrepairing red blood cells and boosting our immune system.

·          also contains high levels of vitamins A, C and E, and has strong antioxidant capacities. Antioxidants attack free radicals, which can cause harmful chemical reactions, damaging cells in the body and making it harder for the body to fight off infections.

I have been taking this stuff for a week now and today is my last day. I defiantly realised a difference in my energy levels and generally just feel more healthy and radiant.

What is chlorophyll?

Chlorophyll is a unique substance found in all plant life. It is the pigment that gives plants their characteristic green color. Chlorophyll also absorbs light necessary for photosynthesis, which sustains plant life through the conversion of sunlight into chemical energy.

I would honestly recommend using this supplement if you are looking to detox your body before or during a diet. You can purchase this from John Bell & Croydon and the Nutricentre at RRP £17.41. This bottle has about 4 week’s worth within it, so that’s 2 full detox’s! Well worth the money.
